A lot of changes have transpired in the last couple of years. We are full time residents at the lake, and are trying to adjust to the loss of my Dad. He was definitely the driving force behind many of the projects we were able to accomplish these last few years. He continued to supervise and give advice well into the last part of March and first couple of days of April. And at 95 we miss his good humor and interest in happenings in the family, community, and beyond.

After this loss, Mom is finding her way, alone now. Being married for 70+ years, and missing her best friend is a big adjustment. Upon coming home from the funeral, she decided she would like to stay with us at the house. She stayed for a few days, and didn't seem to have a desire to back to their apartment at the assisted living center. I had roughly 2 months of school left, and Will graciously agreed to help with making things work out so Mom could stay with us.

School did come to an end, and with it the decision to resign from my full time position, and become a stay at home daughter. It would be ideal to work part time, at least for now.

Today I decided I would write about the experiences we are having at home, attach some pictures, and include some information I learn about geriatric and the aging process. Hope all of you who check in from time to time will find it to be both interesting and educational.
